Leading wireless communications specialist Ramtech Electronics has been awarded a contract to supply its innovative WES system for a new residential scheme currently under construction at Chelsea Creek in London.
Ramtech was awarded the contract by the Ardmore Group, the company appointed by developers St George to construct the 142 high-specification residential units in one of the most up-and-coming areas of London.
Surrounded by landscaped gardens in an attractive dockside setting close to the river, Chelsea Creek will showcase an outstanding selection of luxury apartments and spacious penthouses.
Ramtech is supplying its state-of-the-art health and safety compliant Wireless Emergency System (WES) to protect the site and construction workers by providing 24-hour fire safety.
The scheme provides a base station wirelessly linking up to some 42 individual battery powered units, which require no power cables and take minimum installation.
Using the latest radio technology, should an alarm be triggered a 122 decibel siren will sound and a strobe light will flash. The unit that has been triggered can be easily identified from the base station.
Paul Henson, Marketing Director at Ramtech said:
“WES is proven to provide excellent fire safety protection on construction sites whilst work is under way.
“It is becoming increasingly widely used by growing numbers of construction companies as a highly effective form of fire protection for sites as well as to those working on it. With it being a wireless system that is so easy to install, it is ideally suited to construction sites like this one at Chelsea Creek as the fire points can be moved around as the project progresses.”
As well as being fully compliant with HSE fire regulations, WES meets European standards covering the use of radio technology in emergency equipment and structural timber association guidelines.
