At the Bourne Leisure Primrose Valley Holiday Centre in Filey, North Yorkshire, security guards managed to thwart thieves who were attempting to steal a £30,000 holiday home from the holiday home storage compound on the site.
The guard was carrying out his scheduled half hour checks including tagging in, in the Ramtech Security Point system, when he came across a holiday home being loaded onto a transporter. He thought that it seemed a little suspicious so rang the office to check whether or not it was legitimately being collected from the compound. He was told that it wasn’t and so immediately rang the police who came and arrested the man.
Since this incident the park has further enhanced security by adding a Ramtech contact on the gate which sounds an alarm whenever the gate is opened.
Peter Tuck, the assistant manager at Primrose Valley is a big fan of Ramtech and has been using the system since 1992 (in different parks). He said: “We are very pleased with the Ramtech monitoring system installed at Primrose Valley. Time and time again it has proved its worth and on this occasion I am sure that if it wasn’t for the Security Point system, we probably wouldn’t have apprehended this would be thief.”
Andy Hicks, managing director of Ramtech, said: “We enjoy many long term relationships with customers who have entrusted the security of their sites to us for many years by using our monitoring systems. This is another example of how our systems are helping to provide the very best protection for park operators and the homes on their sites, particularly at a time when domestic burglaries are on the rise.”
